Changing the way the world provides services to people with intellectual & developmental disabilities in HCBS settings.
The Financial Capability Wraparound System
A multi-benefit program created by Jen Nash of Priceless Financial Coaching supporting financial capability and wellness in both individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities AND their caregivers.
Caregiver Workforce Shortages: HCBS providers are grappling with a significant shortage of direct care workers, which is exacerbated by high turnover rates. This shortage is driven by low wages, limited benefits, and the demanding nature of the work, making it difficult to attract and retain qualified staff.
Funding and Reimbursement Issues: HCBS providers often face inadequate funding and reimbursement rates from Medicaid and other payers. These rates frequently do not keep pace with the rising costs of providing care, including wage increases for staff and the costs associated with compliance and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory and Compliance Pressures: The HCBS sector is heavily regulated, with providers required to comply with a complex array of federal and state regulations. This adds administrative costs and complexity to service delivery. Providers may struggle to meet these requirements, which can result in penalties, loss of funding, or reduced capacity to focus on direct care, ultimately impacting the quality of care provided.

Our goal is flexibility and customization for your team. At Priceless Financial Coaching, we understand that every individual has unique financial needs and challenges, which is why our program is designed to support the diverse spectrum of neurodiversity in the workplace.
At Priceless Financial Coaching, we believe that the best outcomes start with the caregivers. We are dedicated to improving the financial wellness of people with disabilities and that means also improving the financial wellbeing of the caregiver right alongside the person in care. Results at every level!
The IDD video coaching program is tailored mostly to support individuals with mild to moderate levels of intellectual disability.
The IDD video coaching program is a simplified version of our neurotypical programs used to support caregivers and the general population. The IDD program includes scenarios frequently experienced by individuals in HCBS waiver environments. While it is designed for those with IDD, this program can also be valuable for anyone in an HCBS setting who needs a simplified approach to essential money management skills. For those with more advanced skills, the neurotypical programs or a combination may be suitable.
Even if they have a legal decision-maker, it’s essential for them to understand basic money management skills as well as their rights and responsibilities. Knowledge of these areas empowers them to protect themselves and advocate for their own needs and wants. It also helps them understand the decisions that are being made by their legal decision-makers.
Absolutely! The standard program is focused on breaking the paycheck to paycheck cycle, budgeting, getting out of debt, building an emergency fund and saving for large purchases.
Investing in your caregivers' financial wellness reduces stress, boosts productivity, and improves retention rates, leading to a healthier, more engaged workforce and ultimately benefiting your bottom line as well the quality of the services you provide.
This program reinforces state initiatives by promoting independence for people in care, addressing the caregiver crisis, improving care quality, and reducing reliance on public assistance, all of which contribute to the broader goals of community-based support and sustainable care systems.
This program creates a ripple effect of positive outcomes at every level. For the person in care, it enhances financial independence and self-advocacy. Caregivers gain confidence and tools to better support their own wellness. Provider agencies see improved service delivery and higher satisfaction rates. The community benefits from more empowered and financially stable individuals. At the state level, it aligns with initiatives to reduce reliance on public assistance, improve care quality, and promote long-term financial stability, leading to stronger, more resilient communities.
